One of Artsakh talking monuments, Gandzasar monastery, is situated on Gandzasar Mountain slope in Martakert region. The Mountain has received its name for its rich silver mines. Prominent figures of the 16-17th century Armenian liberation movement Israyel Ori and Hovsep Emin held meetings with Catholicoses in Gandzasar monastery.
