Defense Army frontline units, having confirmed enemy advancement, undertook an organized defense. As a result of the ongoing battle, adversary was forced to retreat abandoning the corpse of Azerbaijani Armed Forces Captain, resident of Naftalan, Vagif Dilgam oglu Bayramov, born 1979. According to Artsrun Hovhannisyan, Azerbaijan not only failed to respect the ceasefire agreement reached the previous day, but also took provocative actions aiming to destabilize the existing explosive situation.
