The first two-wheeled bicycles appeared on streets at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1817 baron Karl von Drais invented first two-wheeled bicycle, which did not have a steering wheel. The wheels were made of wood, attached with wire. Later, wooden wheels were replaced by thin metal wheels. The prototype of today’s bike was invented by James Kemp Starley in1884.
