Terlemezyan has taken an interesting and challenging road before becoming a painter. At the age of 12 Panos loses his father, then quits education and starts earning a living for his family. At the age of 30 the future artist decides to continue his education and take the art road. Armenian painter has also led an active social life, participating in Van self-defense, and leading a rebellion against the sultan’s government.
