March 9th is Jansem’s birthday. Hovhannes Semedrjyan, born 96 years ago , in Selez city of Western Armenia, passed away three years ago. The painter spent his childhood in Greece, adolescence in France, and only later, at the age of 53, he visited his Homeland. His next visit to Armenia was in 2001, which is commemorated with his generous donation to the Genocide Museum-institute; his 34 canvases entitled “Genocide”.
