It has been three days since ceasefire was established in Syria. Even though it has not entirely prevented the country from bloodshed, the intensity of military activities has comparatively been reduced.
The fragile ceasefire makes it possible to improve the disastrous humanitarian situation the Arabic republic currently has. Over 500 thousand people are still under siege, another 4 million and 600 thousands live in inaccessible areas and are in bad need of humanitarian aid. The UN is planning to deliver humanitarian aid to 154 thousand residents in besieged settlements within several days. It also expresses its readiness to help over 1 million and 700 thousand people from distant areas. First aid convoys are to be sent to Muadamia, Zabadani, Kefraya, Fua and Madaya.
