The week starts with good news: Armenian market will have car prices dropped. After Tatyana Valova’s famous announcement on considering VAT application on cars imported from EEU countries as non-tariff obstacles, Armenia has additionally discussed and agreed on resigning from the earlier provision starting from 2017. According to the new project a citizen is allowed to import one VAT exempted car during a year. Car importers welcome the solution, but at the same time they doubt other possible ways most importers might use to avoid the taxes. Such as, using their relatives' or neighbors' passports to register cars while being the actual importers of “iron horse” vehicles themselves. They suggest to be granted with status of licensing a business and defining taxes themselves.
