It has been for almost three years since the Writers’ Union last welcomed new members. The Union president is horrified of the thought of the upcoming admission and the endless amount of applications that will follow.
“They are still so deliberate to become a member regardless of their age”-Mr. Militonyan understands them pretty well, of course. They do all want to get advantages of the opportunities membership may provide them with, i.e. receiving awards, getting the chance to vacation in Tsakhkadzor. Today the Union has five hundred members with only 10% under the age of 35. The president also mentions about other young literary individuals, who could possibly become members, if only they cared more and made their way to the Union.
