From the spot of 4100 m above sea level they reached the top on foot in five and a half hours.
It is the dream of many Armenians to climb the top of Ararat mountain. Lately during a journey to Western Armenia the employee of the First Channel Karine Hakobyan made her wish come true and climbed the top of the mountaint.
The journey to Western Armenia started on August 19. Armenians living in different countries of the world and one Belarusian who also expressed the wish to see Western Armenia and climb the Ararat mountain, were included in the 21 men expedition.
In Kars the group visited the St. Arakelots church, saw the bridge of Vardan and visited the famous house of Yeghishe Charents where the writer was born and grew up. The pilgrims also visited Van, Bayazet and Ani, saw the Berkri waterfall, Bayazet fortress and Lake Van.
The rise to the top of Ararat started in the morning on August 21. From the spot of 4100 m above sea level they reached the top on foot in five and a half hours.
