The Public Television of Armenia expresses its deep condolences and support to Djivan Gasparyan, members of the family and relatives.
The wife of famous duduk player Djivan Gasparyan, the beloved dancer Astghik Zargaryan passed away. Astghik Zargaryan was born on February 21, 1932, in Yerevan. She studied in the classic dance department of the Choreographic School of Dance and plasticity. She continued her education in the French department of Yerevan State Linguistic University after V. Brusov.
At first she entered the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet after A. Spendiarian, where she had parts in different performances. In 1948 she entered the Tatul Altunyan Song and Dance Ensemble, where she danced for more than 20 years. And that was the exact place where her fateful meeting with the great master took place.
Astghik Zargaryan performed for the audience national dances and dances of foreign peoples, Russian, Ukrainian, Georgian. Especially memorable are her "Makhmur Aghjik" and "Sareri Hovin Mernem" solo dances.
Astghik Zargaryan presented the Armenian dances in various countries of the world, earned many awards and certificates.
The requiem service will take place on August 23, in the Saint Sarkis Church, Nor Nork, the funeral will be on August 24.
