The Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan was on a working visit in Gegharkunik to learn about the harvest, hail damage and concern of the villagers firsthand.
The leaders of the villages and villagers told the minister that they are satisfied with the quality and quantity of the harvest but there is irrigation problem in many communities.
In Gegharkunik where the main plant grown is potato, they succeeded to overcome the damage of hail. They even developed new potato cultivation technology.
During his visit the minister also visited Mets Masrik village where the potato plantations occupy around 30 hectares territory.
According to the minister the agriculture works in the republic generally proceed as intended. The processes of export and storage are properly organized.
