The area of yarn factory of Gyumri was turned into a large landfill after the earthquake. It has become unrecognizable today. Thanks to the philanthropist Eduard Sakhkalian the area at the edge of the city was cleaned and turned into a recreation area.
The inhabitants of Gyumri were looking forward to the end of the construction which lasted for four years. The builders while cleaning the area left buildings with unique architecture untouched.
Workshops were founded in one of them. More than 10 artists from Gyumri received the opportunity to work in comfortable conditions.
