The court of Libya sentenced to death the former leader of the country Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam.
He was found guilty of the war crimes during the attempt to crush the revolt in 2011. The verdict was passed in absentia because Saif al-Islam is held in Zintat.
The militant groups watching over the city do not obey the Tripoli government and do not accept the court verdict and deny to give the prisoner to them. Eight more men were sentenced to death along with Gaddafi's 41 years old son, including the former chief of intelligence of Libya and former Prime Minister. UN and international human rights defence organization reacting on that verdict, declared that the trial didn't correspond to the international standards of justice.
