On the joint initiative of NAS Language Institute and the Ministry of Diaspora a two days conference was organized. It is named "The problems of converging Eastern and Western Armenian".
Famous linguists and literature experts from Armenia and Diaspora will have reports. The participants of the conference stressed the importance of the initiatives meant for the joint development of Armenian, its preservation, regulation and purification.
According to the specialists both Eastern and Western Armenian have phonetic, grammatical and word formation problems. The head of the Language Inspectorate Sergo Yeritsyan considering the convergence of two branches of the language as equal development of both, offers not to leave the language development on its own. According to him a program must be developed to make it all directed and support it.
