The date of birth of Armenian mystic philosopher George Gurdjieff is not known distinctly. It is only known that he was born in Alexandropol.
Gurdjieff was interested in ancient Armenian churches and manuscripts, in which he tried to find something mystic. He was also interested in ancient Armenian civilization, “Gilgamesh” and European mystic philosophy. At the age of 22 he had managed to be in the entire Asia, to study numerous mysterious sites, religions and doctrines.
In Tiflis Gurdjieff was a member of some confidential associations and unions. The mystic school founded by him and perceptions about life attracted many. Legends and stories about him were spread both during his lifetime and after his death.
