Van Gogh considered himself to be a failure. In 1888 Van Gogh moved to Paris.
Van Gogh has begun painting at an early age. He has portrayed the poor – the Borinaj miners, villagers, craftsmen, fishermen, with the lifestyle of who he had familiarized himself in Holland. His works were strange to the eye in time, sometimes they were funny for some people, but all saw a great love in Gogh’s first paintings.
Van Gogh considered himself to be a failure. In 1888 Van Gogh moved to Paris. The dark colors were soon replaced with blue, yellow, with the bright shades of red.
During the last years of his life he got acquainted with another renowned impressionist Paul Gauguin, they founded a studio together, lived and worked. But Van Gogh was already in a difficult mental state. When his friend announced that he wanted to move, Gogh took the knife and cut the ear in front of his friend.
Van Gogh was rushed to hospital. There he committed a suicide.
