This year on Vardavar Day Yerevan residents drenched each other with blessed water. Ahead of the Holiday of Transfiguration of Jesus a number of Christians headed by priest Hakob Khachatryan participated in the water-blessing ceremony.
According to Ter Hakob, the blessing of the water supplied to Yerevan has become a tradition. The real holiday started after the ceremony – full tables, traditional song and dance. Pouring water on each other is the compulsory condition of the holiday.
