In the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union Armenia deepens relations with its member countries including Kazakhstan. There is a large Armenian community in this eastern country. According to official data, the Armenian community was formed in Kazakhstan in the 2nd half of the 19th century, and then became larger after the establishment of the Soviet Union. During the years of rapid industrial construction in Kazakhstan there was an inflow of labor force, builder-architects and other professionals from various countries including Armenia into Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar, and Almaty.
