Tonight the repayment period of 1,5 billion euros to loaners will expire. In case of not paying the money Greece will declare a default. The Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras declared that it is possible if an agreement is not reached with loaners. Athens demand equally viable agreement. The President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker urged the Prime Minister of Greece to accept the last offer of the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund. It includes the reduction of VAT for hotels to 13%, earlier the loaners were offering 23%. If Athens agrees to the conditions, the Euro group will gather an extraordinary session during which the sides will attempt to reach an agreement about the reconstruction of debts. The Euro group wants to be sure that votes during the referendum will be for the offers of the loaners. The referendum on July 5 will show whether the Greeks agree to the hike of taxes and reduction of expenses.
The Prime Minister of Greece indirectly confirmed that he is not going to pay 1,5 billion euros. He also made clear that if the Greeks vote for the ultimatum of loaners the government under his leadership will resign.
