The Yaghdan village of Lori region which was inhabited by Greek people was being deserted after the dissolution of Soviet Union.
The inhabitants began to leave their houses when the living in Greece became too easy. The situation was saved by the former head of the village who founded collective farm and provided villagers with stable income.
In recent years people from Yerevan, Vanadzor, Stepanavan, neighbor villages and even Georgia came to temporarily and many of them permanently live there. Eight new families resided in Yaghdan in a year. The new inhabitants were provided with apartments and some of them with jobs.
