It was against the decision of the Public Services Regulatory Commission on increasing the electricity tariff. The demonstration had turned into a 3-day sit-down strike.
The demonstrators had announced that the sit-down strike will be moved to Baghramyan Avenue, if authorities do not listen to their demands.
Yerevan Deputy Chief of Police Valery Osipyan informed the demonstrators in the evening that the President of the Republic wants to meet 3-4 of them, but the demonstrators refused the proposal.
At 11:00 o’ clock in the evening Valery Osipyan warned them that beginning from that hour they do not have a right to raise noise and to violate the public order. While dispersing the sit-down strike of the activists, who were fighting for the decision of increasing the electrify price, 237 people were detained.
