In 1773 landscape designer William Kent invented the first children’s stroller. It was intended for the children of a duke. The movement of the stroller was ensured by a horse or a trained goat.
The prototype of the modern children’s stroller was created in 1840 in England for Queen Victoria, who was a mother of 9 children. The handle was initially placed in front of the stroller. So the mother closed the child’s view making the walk boring. After a decade Charles Benton corrected the “mistake” and patented the invention.
