Some of them are registered in the Red Book of Armenia, and some have been brought to Armenia during Soviet years from different countries.
Yucca
This South American plant was not frequently met in Soviet Yerevan. In the continent of America people make rough fabric from the filaments of this plant, but in Armenia it is used only for landscaping.
Mahonia usualMahonia is native to North America and Asia. As biologists say, this plant with sharp-edged leaves adapted to the climate of Armenia very easily.
False Jasmine
You can feel the presence of the false jasmine at a few meters distance by its unique and enchanting smell. For that very reason its flowers are used for preparing perfume.
Water Lilies
In the little pool of the greenhouse in the Botanical Garden workers take care of water lilies like the apple of their eyes. Once this plant was growing in many ponds of Armenia, then it gradually disappeared and now it is rarely met. Water lilies are very loved especially by the youngest visitors.

This species of poppy is registered in the Red Book of Armenia. This flower with large petals is met in mountainous parts of Armenia.
Ginkgo bilobaThis is a plant of Eastern-Asian origin. The decoctions made from its leaves are useful in case of violations of cerebral vessels. People interested in herbal medicine often visit the Botanical Garden and take some leaves.

Smirniobsis armenaThis is an Armenian endemic species of plant with a strange-sounding name. Its uniqueness is in frequency of its blooming. No one knows whether it will blossom in 1, 2 or 5 years. After blossoming the plant dies.

This perennial prairie plant adapts to any environment, does not need irrigation and is adapted to any living conditions.
