The survivor of the Armenian Genocide, Aregnaz Grigoryan, was born in one of the small villages of Kars. She was only several months old when the Turks invaded the village and slaughtered almost everyone including many members of her family.
Those who survived found their salvation on this bank of the river Araks - in the Eastern Armenia. The father of the family stayed close to the bank of Araks as he was sure that sooner or later they will cross the river and return home.
