Photographer George Rodger was the first, who photographed the representatives of the Nuba tribe. Leni Riefenstahl was among the thousands of fans of his photos: in the 30s Riefenstahl had gained a bad reputation because of several films screened by Hitler’s order. Riefenstahl offered 1000 pounds to the photographer George, instead demanding that he confesses where Nuba people live. The photographer refused the proposal. In his “Farewell to the Nubas” he wrote that the people of that tribe appeared on the verge of extermination when magazines started writing about them.
