Arnold Newman is one of the greatest photographers of the 20th century. He is considered to be the founder of portraits taken in natural environment. Newman preferred to photograph his heroes in a place familiar to them, and took into account every detail of the shot.
One of the most famous photos of Newman was taken in 1946. Harper’s Bazaar Magazine had asked him to photograph Igor Stravinsky. Newman considered long how to take the photo of that renowned composer.
This is one of Newman’s best photos, but Harper’s Bazaar Magazine did not appreciate the photo and did not publish it.
