Frunze Dovlatyan was born in 1927 in New Bayazet. The boy, who had lost his parents at an early age, played in the film “Davit Bek”. His next role was in “Anahit”, and then he played in Sundukyan Theater. Subsequently he left for Russia to study at Russian Universal Pictures.
In Moscow Dovlatyan shot the film “The Morning of Our City”, which won the first prize in Vienna Festival.
This was followed by “Who is Guilty?”, “Dima Gorin’s Career, “Morning Trains” films. After these films he said “Hello, It’s Me” to Armenian cinematography already as a serious and sophisticated director.
The film was a breakthrough not only for Dovlatyan but also for Armenian cinema. This was the first Armenian film, which had 10 million viewers, and travelled to Cannes. With this film have started their film career Galya Novents, Margarita Terekhova and Armen Jigarkhanyan.
