Later on the events dedicated to the Armenian Genocide will be held next to this cross-stone.
On the occasion of the Armenian Genocide centennial the Armenians all over the world continue conducting commemoration marches in different countries. A number of commemoration events have been held in Batumi as well. 2 cross-stones have been consecrated in the courtyard of Batumi Saint Savior Church, one of which dedicated to the Armenian Genocide centennial and the other to Armenian-Georgian friendship. Later on the events dedicated to the Armenian Genocide will be held next to this cross-stone.
A Divine Liturgy in memory of the Armenian Genocide martyrs was also conducted in the Saint Savior Church. 100 chimes of bells sounded at the end thus symbolizing the genocide centennial. Armenians living in Adjara as well as many Georgians attended the events and the march. Batumi Mayor Giorgi Ermakov was there, too.
