On May 7 President Sargsyan together with Catholicoses of All Armenians and the Holy See of Cilicia took part in an ecumenical service at the National Cathedral of Washington commemorating the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
The US Vice President Joe Biden, the US Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, General Secretary of the World Council of Churches Olav Fykse Tveit, many clergymen, thounds of members of the Armenian community in the USA, American diplomats, public figures and politicians were present at the service as well.
