The appeal of the Armenian Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I to the Constitutional Court of Turkey in order to return the See of Sis and estates located in the territory of Historical Cilicia to the rightful owners aroused a fuss in the Turkish media.
The congressman Adam Schiff welcomed the initiative of Aram I. The congressman said, "This ancient and sacred site must be returned to its rightful owners nearly a century after it was pillaged by the Ottoman Empire. Armenians are right to pursue all legal avenues to obtain justice and to seek the return of what is rightfully theirs.”
The lawyer of the Catholicos Cem Sofuoglu takes the case seriously. On Monday the lawyer passed the folder full of facts to the Constitutional Court of Turkey situated in Ankara.
