Concluding the press conference, the Genealogy members performed a piece from the song “Face the Shadow” to be presented at the contest.
Despite changing time zones so often, Genealogy members manage to participate in rehearsals for 2 times and to spend the most part of their time in Armenia on Eurovision preparations. After a short break the singers representing the 5 continents and Armenia are again in the homeland.
They attended the first official press conference with great responsibility, without being late.Everyone was interested what kind of show Armenia is going to present this year. Head of the Armenian delegation in Eurovision Song Contest 2015 Gohar Gasparyan answered that question.
“We intend a minimalistic digital show. The staging will be rich in national elements. We cannot have a dance group because of the number of the singers. The performance is quite complicated, hence the group will focus more on the song and not on the performance,” said Gohar Gasparyan.

The head of the Armenian delegation also referred to the team formation: “The creative team of the First Channel spent the whole New Year searching for singers. The simplest we found Essaï Altounian(he had participated in one of the projects of the Public Television of Armenia) and Tamar Kaprelian(During different years Diaspora representatives had sent numerous letters to the First Channel asking to send Tamar to represent Armenia at the contest).

The representative of Armenia, Inga Arshakyan, was selected at the end.“It is a big honor for me to represent Armenia in the European contest for the 2nd time. I was at home when they phoned me and announced the news. Not a single moment I hesitated: I could not miss the chance,” said Inga Arshakyan.

The members of the group are the inheritors of the Genocide survivors. During the first official meeting they separately presented the stories of their families.
Especially Vahe Tilbian’s story was very exciting. “I live in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia. It was a long time my mother’s family had settled there. My father’s family came to Ethiopia during the genocide years; they dealt with shoemaking, weaving and carpet sales. I was surprised to receive an electronic mail from Armenia: the biggest Armenian community in Africa is in Egypt and there are many talented Armenians there, too. Then the creative team selected me,” Vahe told.
