Nilsson became world-famous, when Life magazine published an article titled “Life before Birth”, and decorated with photos portraying a fetus developing in the womb. They caused a sensation.
Later this shot appeared on the covers of other famous magazines. “A Child is Born” book by Lennart Nilsson, issued in 1965, is considered to be one of the illustrated bestsellers.
