The international media covered the Istanbul commemoration events. A morning liturgy was given in the Armenian Patriarchate church to commemorate not Armenian but all the victims of World War I.
The event must be approached with understanding. The Istanbul-Armenian community didn't have the freedom to commemorate the victims and to cense for their spirits for one century.
Events also took place in Ankara, Mardin, Diarbekir. Wreaths were laid before the houses of the victims of Pan-Turkism Komitas and Ruben Sevak.
