On April 22 President Sargsyan answered Al Jazeera, Reuters, CNN Turk, BBC, and Russia Today reporters’ questions in the Genocide Memorial Complex.
Reuters asked, “Doesn’t it disappoint that the US President Obama is not going to utter the word ‘genocide’ on April 24?”
The RA President replied, “Forty-four of the American fifty-five states have recognized and condemned the Armenian Genocide.
President Obama, while being a senator, repeatedly uttered the word ‘genocide’. I witnessed numerous discussions with US officials’ participation. They were convinced that there was genocide, but at the moment the USA is not interested in recognizing the Armenian Genocide.”
