The eagle of Getashen turned 50 on April 21. Commemoration events were organized on the anniversary of the national hero of RA Tatul Krpeyan in his native village. It now bears the name of the hero.
In 1990-1991 when the situation in Artsakh intensified, Tatul assumes the command of the Getashen sub-region defense. After the heroic defense Tatul died in Getashen during the "Ring" operation of the Russian 4th Army and Azerbaijan forces.
