The old mausoleum of Armenian kings situated in the Aghdzk village of Aragatsotn Region is the only early medieval construction which has precise date. Historical events point out that it was built in 364.
Not only Christian, but also heathen kings of Armenia were buried in the mausoleum which is in the center of attention of the scientists since the beginning of the 20th century.
The remains of one of the most ancient churches near the mausoleum were preserved. The coming explorations will uncover whether the church was built before or after the mausoleum.
