People managed to skillfully manipulate photos of famous people and to get what they wanted.
The contemporary computer programs enable to use thousands of tricks, to moderate photos and to falsify them. But even decades and centuries ago people managed to skillfully manipulate photos of famous people and to get what they wanted.
In one of the well-known photos of the U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, for example, only the head belongs to Lincoln, and the body belongs to member of the Democratic Party John Calhoun.Stalin, too, liked to correct his photos. He removed the parts undesirable for him.
Another illusive photo was taken on May 1, 1945, when soviet soldiers raised a triumphal flag over the Reichstag. In the first version of the photo one can clearly see 2 watches on a soldier’s hand. The 2nd watch was given him as a bribe by the photographer who had staged the scene. Not to reveal the falsification, the editor deleted the 2nd watch.
