The information about the victims are being drawn out and reviewed from the archives. Mainly the lists of orphans and refugees were preserved from which more than 40,000 names have been already drawn out. The National Archives work to create an electronic repository and call everyone who has data or information about their relatives who went victims of the Genocide to pass it to them.
There are hundreds of thousands of such lists which were formed immediately after the Genocide when the flow of the refugees reached Armenia. To organize the care for the orphans and refugees who escaped the Genocide their name lists were created in Yerevan, Etchmiadzin, Dilijan, Oshakan, churches and villages.
Not only the names of the victims will be enlisted into the electronic database but also all the information that the orphans passed to us. The information and numbers about victims were preserved in the memories, works, and literature of people who escaped the horror of 1915 but alas there is no full database. According to the director of the National Archives the Jews created such a repository long ago. They did it with the help of lists which were formed when they were transferred to internment camps.
