The founder of the Republican Party of Armenia Ashot Navasardyan turns 65 on March 28. He dedicated himself to fight for independence of Armenian and national liberation movement since he was 18. He was imprisoned thrice for his ideas and generally was condemned to 17 years of imprisonment and 5 years of exile.
He spent about 12 years in prison. The fellow members of his party paid tribute to the founder of the party in Yerablur pantheon. Galust Sahakyan also visited the school after Ashot Navasardyan and placed flowers before his statue.
The anniversary of Ashot Navasardyan was also celebrated in his native village Tolors, Sisian Region. Fellow members of his party and officials from Yerevan paid their tribute and placed flowers to the bust of Ashot Navasardyan.
Despite his difficult road Ashot Navasardyan never betrayed his idea of independent and united Armenia; that is how Ashot Navasardyan is described by his friends.
