On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema RA People's Artists Nikolay Tsaturyan received a Medal of Honor of Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema.
The opening ceremony of the plaque of Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema rector and founder Vavik Vardanyan took place on the World Theater Day. Vavik Vardanyan had a great contribution to the development of the Armenian theater. According to actor Raphael Kotanjyan, the theater has not yet recovered the role it had in the olden days. For the newcomers in the theatrical field the theater has become an indispensable part of their lives which, as they usually say, needs full devotion.
Zhirayr Dadasyan believes that the theater is not just a building, it is a living organism, and if it operates it does exist. Despite this fact he thinks that there is a need for a center to solve current issues, a center where the young generation will be able to do research. It is also worth mentioning that in May Pantomime Theater is going to participate in the First International Pantomime Festival in Tbilisi.
