Freestyle wrestler Volodya Frangulyan was the winner in the U23 European Freestyle Wrestling Championship. Our wrestler wonderfully accomplished all the four matches.
At first our sportsman beat Belarusian Denis Maximov, then without giving any points he beat Azerbaijani sportsman Akhmednabi Gvarzatilov, and in the semi-final - Turkish Recep Topal. In the final his competitor was Andrey Svirid from Ukraine.
Volodya Frangulyan’s victory was just a logical continuation of the International Championship which took place a few days ago in Germany. There as well our young wrestler beat several champions and took the highest prize.
The Armenian freestyle wrestling national team received one gold and one silver medal in U23 European Championship. Now it is the turn of our Greco-Roman wrestlers. The team led by Levon Julfalakyan will leave for the competition site on March 27.
