An interesting and unique photo story has been shot in Armenia with participation of the 6 artists of Genealogy group representing Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Loyal to Armenia’s participation format for this year, the group Genealogy presents its genealogy. The group members bear the rich cultural heritage of Armenia and try to introduce it to the European spectator. The photo shoot has been implemented in the courtyard of Saint Gevorg Church in Mughni, where the Armenian, national cultural traditions, the peculiarities of Armenian architecture, its magnetism, as well as the uniqueness of sculpture are also presented.
The stylist for the photo shoot is Armen Galyan, and the photographer is Ruben Martirosyan. In the participants’ clothing Armen Galyan has combined different shades of black and grey, various fabrics, thanks to which the monotonous gamma of the colors has received a more three-dimensional look. The clothes have been sewed with stylish simple cut, larger size and accented shoulders. “We have combined the European and Armenian fashion trends as well as have combined the up-to-date with the traditional. We have tried to get modern characters who also reflect the Armenian roots,” says Armen Galyan. For accentuating and completing the image, special badges with old photos of the grandparents of the Diaspora-Armenian and Armenian participants and with ornaments of Armenian architecture and Mughni church have been used. They symbolize the name of the group Genealogy, the idea of genealogy put in the basis of Armenia’s participation format.
Photographer Ruben Martirosyan, inspired by the song “Face The Shadow”, has turned each character into a shadow in a unique way. The Eurovision-2015 will be held in the capital of Austria, Vienna, with the slogan “Building Bridges”. Armenia will be represented by the group Genealogy under the heading “Face The Shadow”.
