Ceremonies of commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will also take place in Shirak Region. The list of the events is rich: exhibitions, different initiatives in cities and villages. Trees will be planted in commemoration of victims in more than 100 communities of the region.
Also the international "Rebirth" festival will take place among the events. Many musicians and guests from different corners of the world are expected. The most massive event of Shirak region will be the remembrance march on April 24. The participants will move from Gyumri to Herher or as the people call it Massacre canyon. The place is the last residence of 12 00 victims of 50 communities of Alexandrapol. The march will be organized and led by the Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute.
