A blender is a kitchen device used to grind or cut food and other substances. It has been invented by Stephen Poplawski in the United States in 1922.The first samples of the device were intended only for making drinks carbonated with soda, which pleased especially barmen.
As a result of the new U.S. law prohibiting use of alcohol and thanks to the barmen’s ingenuity, a new type of drink was soon created – cocktail. The only and effective way of preparing it was the blender.
In 1935, Fred Osius improved Poplawsky’s device. Besides mixing drinks, the new blender also could grind and cut food, and to make a puree.
