The ancestors of the inhabitants of Norashen village, Lori Region arrived here in 1825.
They migrated 5 times from the Alashkert region of West Armenia to avoid the Turkish massacres and oppressions, and the stories about those events are still fresh in the memories of the Alashkert people. Empty handed refugees lived through many difficult days, experienced hunger, illnesses and death.
According to the resolution of the soviet republic in 1924 the Norashen village was founded in the present place, which flourishes for already 90 years and gives birth to new generations of Alashkert people.
