The first vehicle people dared to use for overcoming water areas was the ordinary girder. Afterward people realized that using more than one girder is safer and more convenient. A new vehicle, the ferryboat, was invented.
In the 5th century sailboats came to replace them. The first sailboat has been created in Egypt. The sailboat had a military significance for Egyptians. First it was a necessity and secondly –a luxury.
