The aim of the “Youth capital of the year” competition is to stimulate the equal development of the regions, the initiative of the youngsters and to establish cooperation between cities.
In 2015 the title of youth capital of Armenia was granted to Stepanavan. According to the Stepanavan coordinator of the “Youth capital of the year” project Nazeli Avagyan one of the many events of the year is dedicated to the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
