An experimental dancing course is being organized in a number of secondary schools by the support of the Ministry of Education and Science. The aim of the program is not bringing up perfect dancers.
People in charge want to raise the national self-consciousness of schoolchildren and their aesthetic taste through songs and dances.
The initiator of the program “National Songs and Dances” is “Karin” folk-dance group with Gagik Ginosyan as the artistic director. The RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan also participated in a lesson at school after Siamanto in Yerevan.
