The conference marking the 40th anniversary of the Society for Armenian Studies held in Washington was dedicated to the Armenian Genocide. Well known Armenian, Turkish and American historians and politologists presented their research and made speeches describing various aspects of Armenian Genocide.
For example, scientist Greg Aftandilian mentioned two mutually exclusive tendencies among Armenian Genocide survivors spread all over the world.
Majority of the survivors often remembered the massacre, confided their sorrow to their acquaintances and neighbors, published articles, wrote books. While the others had never spoken about it, they tried to forget those ferocities, considering that recollections would be beyond their strength.
