Culture Ministry of Armenia has submitted an application for including the Armenian lavash (thin flatbread of Armenian origin) in UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List. It will be discussed at the upcoming session.
Armenia joined the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2006. The list includes the applications “Duduk and its music”, “The symbol of the cross-stone (khachkar) and cross-stone making”, “Performance manifestations of ‘Daredevils of Sassoun or David of Sassoun’ epic poem”.
